The Axe & Cleaver is a fabulous early-18th century country inn with a warm, relaxing atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and what's more, the food here is top-notch. Fresh, home-cooked, and a reasonably priced menu is the order of the day, every day.
The appealing black and white beamed exterior is the first thing that catches your eye, and this unique olde-worlde charm sets the scene throughout.
During the winter months you will be greeted with a welcoming log fire that is very much in keeping with the enchanting ambiance of bye-gone years, adding to the relaxed atmosphere.
In the summer you can enjoy the large beer garden set amid the lovely grounds with gorgeous views that includes a picturesque duck pond.
There is also a camping and caravanning site here, where again, a hugely warm welcome awaits!
Situated on the A49 just on the outskirts south of Hereford, this little oasis is convenient for the shopping & bright lights of Herefords' city centre. -

This is a really smart pub.There is plenty of car parking next to the pub and it is really easy to find. As you pull into the car park you will the wonderfull veiws across the feilds.
The pub itself is welcoming and have a good range of booze but its the food that the axe and cleaver is locally known for. I have eaten here twice and was happy both times. My friend and his family had their christmas day lunch here this year and he thought it was great. He has a baby and they had high charis and were child friendly.
